James Hammond is the engaging host of the Winging It Travel Podcast, a show dedicated to exploring the world of travel, adventure, and cultural immersion. Known for his laid-back, conversational style, James brings authenticity and a passion for exploration to his interviews with travelers, entrepreneurs, and adventure seekers.

With a knack for finding hidden gems and sharing travel hacks, he inspires listeners to embrace spontaneity and push beyond their comfort zones. His storytelling is packed with practical tips, personal insights, and plenty of humor, making each episode a fun and informative listen for both seasoned globetrotters and aspiring adventurers alike.

In 2013, he decided to embark on a two-year worldwide trip with an Australian work visa thrown in the middle, and he hasn’t stopped since! Since 2013, he has traveled to five continents, over seventy countries, and millions of cafes. He shares his stories on the Winging It Travel Podcast alongside weekly guest conversations.

James is currently based in Vancouver, Canada. He is working on many projects, such as his podcast, writing his new travel book, developing his YouTube channel, and planning more adventures.

What is the most epic road trip you have done?

We spent four months in a little mini camper driving from Vancouver Island to Cape Breton in Canada, which took eight weeks. Then we drove back via the USA through 20 States! We traveled over 23,000 km!

How many work visas have you done?

Three in Australia, New Zealand and Canada.

Why do you travel?

I fully embrace the power of travel to enhance any human being on the planet. It can only improve you. It is a privilege to meet many different people from many different cultures worldwide that I can never see myself not traveling. The travel bug has infested me to the max!
